　One million visitors come every year. Beside the Beer Garden of Odori Park, festivals will be held in Tanukikouji shopping arcades, in Susukino, Jozankei spa, etc.

● The 45th Susukino Festival

　The center of Susukino (South 4 to 7) becomes a pedestrian paradise. Portable shrines and oiran (ancient Japanese courtesans) are displayed. The bars and restaurants of Susukino open street stalls.

■ SAPPORO REGGAE FESTA EXPLOSION

　2009 will be the sixth big outdoor reggae event to be organized in Hokkaido.
　Food and beverage sold on the spot.

　You can enjoy thoroughly reggae during this event held in the great nature of Sapporo Art Park, and to which artists from inside and outside Hokkaido participate. The event is organized so that even people who have never listened to reggae can appreciate it, fully drinking and eating in the Drink and Eat booth. Since the entrance is free for pre-school children, please come and spend in family a wonderful summer holiday in this Reggae Festival.

■ RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2009 in EZO

　Outdoor concerts organized during two days in Ishikari Bay New Port. 2009 is the 11th edition. The distance between the artists and the public is very short. Lots of beverage and food shops.

A word from the organizer(2008)
　Muroran Jazz Cruise that started in 2001, on the theme of "port and jazz", will enter its 8th year. The concerts are held in the waterfront, in a big 3,300 square meter warehouse, located in the central wharf of Muroran Port. The festival is supported every year by very various artists, from professional distinguished artists that spent energies on worldwide live scenes, to local university or junior high school student bands, and dynamic musicians coming from the whole Hokkaido. Listening to music while eating grilled chicken and drinking beer in a salty breeze, is the best way to enjoy the Muroran jazz festival. Many strictly selected good restaurants line the food-and-drink booth, where you can buy the famous Muroran grilled chicken.

■ Kita no Megumi Aishoku Fair (Northern Blessing Food Fair) 2009

　Hokkaido producers sell directly their production in four different places in Sapporo, from May to October.
　Vegetables and Fruits produced in the different regions of Hokkaido, see foods, dairy products, beverages, dishes made from local products, flower and vegetable seeds are to be sold. You will find different spots to drink and eat.
