■ Shikotsuko Autumnal Leaves Festival (Chitose City)

　Sale of vegetables and tasty soup made of sockeye salmon and mushrooms (Lake Shikotsu's specialities). Discount coupons for Shikotsuko Onsen Ryokan Association's spas (one day admission) and sightseeing boats available. Lots of souvenirs. Distribution of discount coupons for the restaurants of Shikotsuko Shopping District (schedule).

Taxi: approx. 30 min. from New Chitose Airport or JR Chitose Station (approx. 7,000).

- from JR Chitose Station West Exit: take a bus bound for Shikotsuko and get off at Shikotsuko (42 min. / \800)
- from JR Sapporo Ekimae Bus Terminal (platform 3): take a bus bound for Shikotsuko and get off at Shikotsuko (1:32' / \1,330)
*A limited express (Airport) goes from JR Sapporo Station to New Chitose Airport (approx. 40 min. / \1,040) or Chitose Station (approx. 30 min. / \810).

■ Sapporo Chrysanthemum Festival

Starting in 1963, 800 chrysanthemums cultivated in Hokkaido are exhibited in Odori Underground Passage.
There will be a discussion corner for beginners in chrysanthemum breeding, and chrysanthemum breeding technique classes are to be held.
