The name of Sapporo often reminds you of “beer”, doesn’t it ?Yes, Sapporo is the city where we first brewed the domestic beer in Japan !!
If you have some interest in the history of beer production in Sapporo, please try visiting Sapporo Beer Museum, quite close from the city-center, where you can taste the fresh beer after the guided tour in the pretty red-brick building. Now, besides Sapporo Beer, we have several beer companies we can be proud of their good quality. The best season for enjoying the beer is, of course, summer ! Actually , the citizens of Sapporo consume a lot of beer, for instance, last year, while we enjoyed “Beer Garden” in Odori, as much as 574,842 liters beer( equal to 1,149,684 jugs of beer) was drunk by 523,000 people in about 20 days. That’s why we find the Odori Park, central area of Sapporo, changed into big “ Open-air Beer Restaurant “,with 5 blocks of the park, each area cozily lined with chairs and tables, offering their best beer and dishes to go with, or many kinds of soft drinks and desserts, too.
Here in Odori Beer Garden, let us introduce some places for you to visit.

From the end of July, downtown of Sapporo is changed into a big beer garden, all over !
Especially in Odori Park, 5 blocks, each 100 square meters, are all changed into beer garden. As this is the center of business, too, many people enjoy “after 5” company with their colleagues after their work.. In this middle of summer, the sunset time is as late as around 7 o’clock.. Under the clear blue sky, enjoying the breeze, with the dishes of local specialty, why don’t you enjoy the great time chatting with your friends, freed from the troublesome works for a while?

In 9 block, you find a playground for children, including the famous sculpture and slide by Isamu Noguchi, ’Black Mantra’ On hot days It’s great fun to play in the waterway here, too.

In 3 block, you can taste good ice-cream, soft-cream of Odori-Park version, fresh and mild made out of our excellent milk carried from the nearby farms.
