Near Shin-Chitose International Airport, about 1 hour’s drive from Sapporo lies ‘Sake no Furusato-kan’ Salmon museum on Chitose River, about 50 Km south of Ishikari Bay on The Sea of Japan, abundant in various kinds of seafood, supplying food to the people in Hokkaido.

Inside this museum, you find many water tanks for exhibition, one of which is one part of Chitose River itself, where you find salmon swimming, lying for their final mission of making the next generation from late August to November.
