This museum exhibits 220,000 items related to Takuboku Ishikawa, Takeo Arishima, Takiji Kobayashi, Ayako Miura and other writers who lived in Hokkaido.

The writers and their works are introduced chronically, to allow visitors to understand the history of literature produced in Hokkaido. Manuscripts and letters, particularly letters written by Takeo Arishima, and an inkstone and brushes of Kaoru Funayama cannot be missed.

Closed: Mon., year-end and New Year’s holidays, and additional holidays for archiving
Hours: 9:30AM – 5PM (last admission: 4:30PM)
Admission: 400 yen for adults
200 yen for college and high school students,
Free for those age 65 or older and junior high schoolers or younger
