Toyohira Park is located very near a subway station and features a garden and greenhouse of numerous flowers and plants.
Opened in 1977 on the former forestry testing grounds of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Toyohira Park is very easily accessed from the Toyohira Park subway station on the Toho line. The approximately 7.4ha park features beautiful flower beds and gardens, such as the “flower and tree garden,” which has various roses in it, and the “conifer garden.” There is also a playground for children and a tennis court. Lectures and gardening classes are held at the “Green Center,” which features a two-storied greenhouse and also has a plant consultation section. The Center also acts as a go-between for people looking to get rid of trees and plants. It’s a place where one can enjoy flowers and greenery as they also learn about them.
