A new type of rental service, “Bicycle-Sharing”
With the catch phrase of “Porocle : Bicycling in Sapporo”, this is a new type of bicycle rental service called bicycle-sharing. You can easily rent a bicycle just by holding up a registered IC card at the port (a designated unmanned parking space) which is located in over 40 places within the center of Sapporo. If you are looking to sightsee in the city, we recommend the “One-day Pass”, a service where you can use as many times as you want for 24 hours by purchasing a pass for ¥1,080 (pay at the time of registration). If you are over 16 and have a mobile number and an identification card, you can register at any registration counter or an affiliated hotel. You can use this service for sightseeing as well as a way of transportation during business trips. There are also a host of convenient services for the general public, including a One-time plan and a One-month Plan (registration required).

The one-day pass for sightseeing is available at the Porocle Counter, partner hotels and tourist information desks. The service allows unlimited use for up to 24 hours after your first rental. You must have with you an ID and a mobile phone (that can make and receive calls and emails). You also have to speak either Japanese or English to use the service.
*You must be a registered member to use the One-time Plan (within 30 minutes) and the One-month Plan (unlimited rentals up to 30 minutes each for a one-month period).
